Gregory Rubens maintains a diverse practice and enjoys assisting his clients with reasoned advice to resolve their problems in an efficient, creative and prompt manner.  Greg’s depth of experience in various types of legal disputes enables him to provide the client with the best possible advice under the circumstances of each case.  Greg is committed to problem solving and dispute resolution in a way that provides clients with a lasting solution to meet their long terms needs. 

Current Legal Practice:

Greg is a partner at the firm where he has been practicing law since 1989.  His areas of focus include estate planning, probate, conservatorships, real estate, corporate law, including small businesses and LLCs, and municipal law.  In 2005, Greg was appointed to the San Mateo County Superior Court Panel as independent legal counsel for conservatees.  He was recently appointed to the San Mateo County Probate and Estate ADR Mediation Panel and is available to conduct mediations in other practice areas.  Greg's practice includes assisting parents and guardians with special needs planning and issues and serves on the San Mateo County Superior Court’s Arbitration and Conservatorship Independent Counsel Panel.  In the municipal law area, Greg serves as City Attorney for the City of San Carlos, Deputy City Attorney for the City of Belmont, City of Foster City and the Town of Woodside, and is Legal Counsel for the San Mateo County Telecommunications Authority (SAMCAT).  He also serves as Deputy District Counsel for Menlo Park Fire Protection District and Coastside Fire Protection District.

Bar Activities:

Greg serves his local Bar Association as Co-Chair of the Business and Business Litigation Section, and is a member of the Estate Planning and Elder Law Section and Real Estate Section.

Volunteer and Community Activities:

Committed to volunteer and community activities, Greg has developed the “Autism Awareness” project while the local Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis and continues to be involved in this program.  Greg has served as Past President of San Carlos Kiwanis, Past (1999-2000) and Current President of San Carlos Chamber of Commerce and a Director of the San Carlos Educational Foundation and the Sequoia Union High School District Measure G and H Bond Advisory Committee.  Additionally, he is a member of the Community Affairs Committee.

When not practicing law, Greg enjoys hiking, gardening, golf and the great outdoors.
